Security and Privacy

Rednote prioritizes the protection of your video messages and personal information. Our commitment to security empowers you to trust that your legacy messages will be stored, consigned and delivered securely, maintaining the confidentiality and authenticity that you deserve.

The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is a symmetric block cipher that the U.S. government selects to protect classified data. AES-256 encryption is a virtually impenetrable symmetric encryption algorithm that uses a 256-bit key to convert your plain text or data into a cipher.

Rednote applies end-to-end encryption when you upload a digital message for consignment as well as when the data rests in storage.

In order to provide a high degree of privacy, SSL encrypts data that is transmitted across the web. This means that anyone who tries to intercept this data will only see a garbled mix of characters that is nearly impossible to decrypt.

SSL keeps internet connections secure and prevents criminals from reading or modifying information transferred between two systems, giving users peace of mind that their messages and personal information are kept confidential and secure throughout the entire communication process.

We do not store everything together. Every message is split into smaller data packets and stored separately. Our algorithm that is stored offline manages these data packets.

This is so that if our servers are hacked, it will still be impossible to assemble the data packets together. In other words, nobody can see your message even if they hack our servers and get all data packets, because it will be meaningless data pieces like a mega jigsaw puzzle.

Smart contracts are programs that are executed when specific conditions are met. They are stored on a decentralized storage and are normally used to automate the implementation of an agreement so that all participants can be immediately confident of the conclusion, without any intermediary’s participation.

Smart contracts are used to automatically manage file retrieval from encrypted environment when a delivery trigger is met and then directly deliver the consignments to their intended recipients.

Although we depend on our workforce to provide the best customer service experiences to you, our staffs do not have access to your videos that are self-uploaded via the Rednote User Portal. While our team may access the consignment instructions and contact details to assist you, nobody can see the “video content” that you have uploaded.

This however do not apply to videos submitted external of the Rednote User Portal- i.e. Email, WhatsApp and Mail In. For Studio Services where the team actually created the content together with you, so it is natural that they can access your content while creating them with you.

Rednote implements stringent authentication process to verify and validate the identities of our customers as well as the receivers of their messages. Among these factors include: Identify Document Verification. Consignee Verification, Trusted Third Party verification and more.

Rednote is designed with the objective of leaving video messages to loved ones, in case something were to happen to us in future. Rednote is not a will planner and should not be used to record your legal documents, will, estate planning, bank details and passwords. Your responsible use of Rednote will prevent abuse and any unwanted repercussion.
